Offering easy access to some of the most beautiful coastal spots on the North Norfolk coast, Sand Pit Cottage is conveniently just a 10-minute a drive from 4 different beaches! Spend each day of your trip at a different part of the coast, whether it’s the popular seaside destination of Cromer, or it’s quieter cousin, Overstrand.

Situated in the sought-after village of Thorpe Market, the cottage is also just a mile from one of best gastro pubs in Norfolk, The Gunton Arms, (be sure to book your table here well in advance).

The space

Whether it’s the wooden beams, fireplace with log burner or the brick and flint work outside, Sand Pit cottage is full to the brim with character.

The property features 3-bedrooms, all located upstairs on the first floor, which include 2-king sized bedrooms with sleigh beds, and 1 room with small double bed.

Downstairs is the spacious kitchen diner, with a wooden table and bench seating with enough space for all 6 guests. The kitchen itself, is well stocked and equipped for self-catering, with the added benefits of a dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine.

For relaxation after a busy day exploring Norfolk, guests will make great use of the comfortable lounge, with seating surrounding the stunning brick fireplace and wood burner. There’s also a smart television, board games and books for entertainment.

The family bathroom is located on the ground floor, and offers both a shower cubicle and bath, along with W/C and wash basin.

Outside is the properties sun trap courtyard garden, with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for those looking to enjoy some alfresco dining!

Sandpit Cottage is located in the quaint village of Thorpe Market, just 4 miles south of Cromer. There are several eating establishments close-by, most notably, the fantastic Gunton Arms, which is renowned as one of the best restaurants in the county, if not further afield.

Also nearby, is the Groveland Farm Shop and restaurant is just 2-minutes in the car. You then have the Vernon Arms and Suffield Arms all under 1.5 miles away. There's a small min-mart just a mile from the property.

Cromer is one of several beaches close to the property, offering a wide sandy beach popular for swimming and surfing all year round. The town itself is lined with old Victorian buildings, with local amenities aplenty, including pubs, restaurants, arcades, and cafes. There's also the Amazona zoo, which is a nice way to spend a day, especially for those travelling with children.

For a quieter seaside experience, Overstrand and Trimmingham, also offer stunning sandy beaches without the crowds. On summer days with the high cliff tops behind you, and the sun glistening on the blue water, you could be mistaken for thinking you were abroad!

For other things to do, Blickling Hall and The National Trust Felbrigg estate are lovely spots for walking, whilst those wishing to explore the broads, can hire boats in Wroxham which can be reached in under half an hour. The city of Norwich is about 40-minutes’ drive away.
