A sandy beach boarded by sand dunes, excellent for swimming and water activities. The beach is located in a small village and is a good halfway option for those looking for a quieter beach but with access to some amenities.
Sea Palling beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for several years and is a family friendly beach. It’s lifeguarded during the summer months, Mid-may to Mid September. There are large stretches of soft sand even when the tide is in. You will notice rock formations out at sea, marked with warning posts, these were implemented as part of the Sea Defence Scheme in 1995 to protect the area from flooding. The result is a sandy beach with calmer waters ideal for swimming. It’s also a popular spot for wind surfing, kite surfing and launching jetskis. Although the beach does get busy during the height of summer, it’s very quiet for most of year.
The main access point for the beach is via a concrete slope on Beach road. On approach you will pass cafes, an amusement arcade and the Reef bar serving traditional pub food. There are also public toilets available.
There are RNLI Lifeguards on the beach from mid May to mid September 10am to 6pm daily. Dogs are not permitted during summer months.
As well as Cafes and amusements you can also find a Post Office, general store and farm shop selling locally caught fish. Why not hire your own cycles from Sea Palling Cycle Hire Ltd on Waxham Road.
Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve at Hickling is only five miles away and accessible by bike or car from Sea Palling.
