A spacious ‘upside down’ house idyllically situated on the edge of the river Wensum, 25 minutes outside of the bustling city of Norwich. With it’s own balcony and private terrace leading right to the waters edge, it’s a fantastic spot to enjoy Norfolk’s countryside. The property can accommodate up to 6 guests. WiFi is available throughout the property. Parking is available on site.

The Granary features 2 double bedrooms with king size beds (one with an ensuite bath & shower) and a ‘snug’ room with a double sofa bed which can be made up to accommodate 2 additional guests. 2 of the rooms feature double doors opening out onto the terrace. There are 2 further bathrooms on this floor.

Upstairs you will find a spacious kitchen, lounge with smart TV and dining room with a balcony looking out over the river and countryside. The dining room table can comfortably seat 6 guests whilst the kitchen provides more informal dining options with a breakfast bar table seating 4 as well as a kitchen island seating 2. Attached to the kitchen is a utility room with separate fridge/freezer, washing machine & tumble drier & sink.

Relax and take in the scenery whilst sitting out on the terrace by the river. The surrounding countryside attracts a multitude of wildlife and is great for bird watching. Lenwade is a popular fishing area with opportunities for lake fishing and river fishing in the Wensum.

The Area
Lenwade is a small village located in the Wensum valley only a 25-minute drive along the A1067 to Norwich. It’s a popular spot for fishing, bird watching, walking and cycling.

The Bridge Inn pub serving “real ale” and food can be found just across the road from the Granary. It’s renowned for its fishing lakes with carp over 30lbs! Day tickets cost £10 from dawn until dusk or 24 hour tickets are available for £20. Visit the Bridge Inn Fisheries website for further information.

The village is set along the route of Marriots Way, a 26 mile footpath, bridleway and cycle route running between the historic market town of Aylsham and the medieval city of Norwich. It follows the routes of two disused railway lines and passes through a number of towns and villages including Drayton, Lenwade, Cawston and Reepham (a lovely market town). Other walking options include “The Wensum Way”, a riverside and lakeside route to the village of Lyng – why not stop for lunch at The Fox pub!

The village is also home to the “Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure Park” with a life size dinosaur trail, animal enclosures and adventure playground, great for a family day out.

Three generations, eight adults, four grandchildren, aged 3 to 9!!!

A very successful family get together, great use of all the facilities. Normally we have the odd night out at a restaurant. However had some great evenings around the table after the kids were in bed, chatting and drinking wine. Had some great family meals to make up for all the exercise we had had during the day.
