Property Details

Humbleyard Cottage is a pretty thatched holiday home situated in the countryside village of Inwood, just 20-minutes outside of Norwich City centre.

Nestled just down the road from a Saxon Church and river, this cottage was built in 1580 and overlooks Intwood Hall. This is a idyllic base for those who enjoy walking holidays, with an abundance of lovely walks nearby with the cottage set along the famous Kett’s Country Walk – A 17-mile stretch linking Norwich and Wymondham.

Ideal for those looking to relax and enjoy the peace of rural Norfolk, with the benefit of visiting Norwich for some shopping and exploring, or the lovely beaches and Broads.

Sleeping up to 4 guests across 2 bedrooms, the cottage features a kitchen, dining room, lounge, bathroom and a beautiful spacious garden.

Driveway parking for 1 car and off-road parking is available for additional cars.

The space

A warm welcoming home with rustic features and homely décor,  this charming cottage offers the perfect place to lay your head whilst visiting Norfolk.

The property can accommodate 4 guests in it’s 2 bedrooms consisting of one with a king size bed and a twin room with 2 single beds. (Please be aware the wooden ceiling beams are especially low on the first floor).

A true countryside home, there’s a stunning stone-bricked wall with striking wooden beams across the living room ceiling, with comfortable seating and smart television available.

The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with many utensils and amenities including a fridge-freezer, Rangemaster oven, hobs, butler sink and washing machine. Through from the kitchen is the dining room with table seating for 6 (with use of 2 additional fold up chairs kept under the stairs).

One bathroom, located upstairs, offers shower over bath, wash basin and W/C.

Outside there’s a lovely spacious garden, great for games and family fun, along with outdoor seating – perfect for a bit of alfresco dining! Unfortunately BBQ’s are not permitted due to the thatched roof.

Reviews

"It’s was a great place just the thing for a couple to stay at or a small family. Very beautiful surroundings! There was a beautiful old church right next door and lots of walking places. There were clean dishes, towels, and the bed was very comfortable. Perfect for the getaway that was definitely needed. Thank you!!!"

Location

Humbleyard Cottage is located less than 15-minutes’ drive from Norwich City Centre, and just 40-minutes’ drive from the nearest sandy beach. The cottage provides a rural, peaceful location to spend your days, whilst retaining easy access to popular attractions, restaurants, and shops.

Within 3-4 miles from the property, there are two well-rated restaurants which guests may care to choose from for a meal out during their stay. The Wildebeest which is approximately 10-minutes away via car, offers a fine dining experience with what they describe as an ‘inventive British menu’. For a Sunday roast we would recommend The Oak Tree, which is approximately 8-minutes from the cottage in the direction of Norwich City centre. For a larger choice of cafes, pubs and restaurants we’d highly recommend making your way into the city, where famously there is (almost) a pub for everyday of the year!

Within Norwich itself, there is something for everyone. Norwich Cathedral is a lovely way to spend a morning or afternoon, with tours available as well as a free visitor and education centre. A short walk from the cathedral is Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery, a historic Norman site with archaeological and natural history collections!

If museums and architecture are not your thing, then Norwich has one of the best shopping scenes in the country, with high street chains aplenty, as well as a supreme collection of independent outlets which can be found amongst the famous ‘Norwich Lanes’. Don’t forget about Norwich’s 12th century market, perfect for a bargain or perhaps some street food from one of its many international food vendors!

If you’re looking for evening entertainment, Norwich has a host of bowling alleys, cinemas, escape rooms to choose from! We’d highly recommend a trip to Cinema City, a charming 'olde worlde' cinema, which offers adults the chance to enjoy a movie with a glass of wine or beer!
